BF6 Gamers Are Convinced: Tasks Are Overly Demanding
The debut of the much-awaited Battlefield 6 received broad praise, especially for its premier multiplayer mode. Exclusively on Steam, concurrent player counts peaked at nearly 750,000. Nevertheless, despite its popularity, many players are voicing discontent with some of the game's hardest challenges, which are necessary to obtain particular firearms.
Players have started turning to tailored sessions created through the Portal feature to complete them, underscoring just how grueling these assignments have become.
Comprehending Battlefield 6 Objectives
Missions serve as Battlefield 6's permanent multiplayer tasks, different from the regularly refreshed everyday and weekly missions. The game includes four classes of assignments, but while the majority simply offer outfits and select equipment, achieving the firearm tasks is the only way of getting 12 of the 41 key firearms present in the game.
Several of these locked weapons might eventually make their appearance on rosters of the top weapons in Battlefield 6.
Player Outcry on Reddit
Within Reddit, players are reasonably expressing their worries about how hard and tedious some of these challenges are. One user pointed out one of the most egregious examples, mandatory for acquiring the KTS100 MK8 LMG:
- Suppress 300 enemies with LMGs
- Deal 10,000 close-range damage with LMGs
"This challenge is so terrible and completely out of mind, I want to scream in frustration," is a statement that captures just how excessively challenging these tasks are.
Suppression in Battlefield is less effective than in previous titles in the series, so it doesn't have anywhere near as many advantages in battle as it did in previous games. It only counts as suppression if you fire a burst without hitting the target.
Meanwhile, firing an LMG without aiming is extremely unreliable and only works at point-blank proximity, which is seldom the location you want to be. The same user also highlighted the irony in the SMG challenge, to unlock the SCW-10, which demands eliminations when scoped in, when that challenge would be considerably more fitting to hipfire kills, and the other way around.
Another Extremely Difficult Task
One more community participant pointed out another ridiculously tough challenge, within the marksman rifle class to unlock the PSR:
- Secure 150 precision takedowns from more than 200 meters away with sniper rifles
This is challenging enough on its own, but there's one more key thing to consider: the majority of Battlefield 6 maps do not even allow combat at those extended distances.
There is a decent selection of map sizes, but because there are just nine levels in the game currently, it implies you must stick to playing one of the larger locales, another expansive area, and maybe a classic map in a best-case scenario if you plan to engage from afar from beyond 200 meters.
The Bypass
There is a workaround though: Battlefield Portal. This portal feature is a feature that enables you to design tailored experiences on the battleground of your choice, complete with bots. This implies you can exploit the mechanics… but it doesn't exactly feel like the intended gameplay experience.
Yet, if tackling the tasks in a normal session seems counterproductive, since you are forced to participate in such an unorthodox manner that offers no advantage to anyone, who can fault a player for completing them in a private match so squad members are not disadvantaged?
Potential Changes
It won't come as a surprise if several of these tasks are toned down in the next few updates, because unless they are modified, some players simply will never acquire the locked firearms.
For now, the audience continues to express their views on these challenging multiplayer missions, hoping for a fairer player experience in future updates.
