The Simpsons Makes Its Debut in Psyonix's Hit Game: Unfortunately Not the Vehicle Fans Are Hoping For
It was previously announced that The Simpsons was collaborating with Epic Games' battle royale, but this isn't the sole place where enthusiasts can immerse themselves in the world of Springfield. The beloved show is coming over to Rocket League, introducing an in-game car skin that will also be usable in Fortnite. That said, whether players will actually want to use it is a different matter, as there's only one Springfield vehicle the community is itching to drive, and this isn't it.
The Dream Vehicle
While many players would absolutely enjoy to face off behind the wheel of Homer's custom creation—the famously flawed automobile Homer built himself in the 1991 installment "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?"—that's not what's being offered. We aren't even getting the Canyonero, the heavy-duty vehicle showcased in season 10. Rather, players are getting the Simpsons' standard well-worn sedan, which has been in the family since the show's early days. Even though this specific vehicle has accumulated plenty of miles, it stands as an iconic element of the series. And for players who pay attention to Rocket League vehicle dimensions, the Simpson family car uses the identical collision model as the Dominus body type.

More Than Just a Car
But that's not the only customization item from the series arriving in the game. This limited-time event will additionally feature a series of challenges to unlock more goodies, all of which are Simpsons-themed. According to a press release, the missions will require participants to "achieve a certain number of centers and clears as there are The Simpsons seasons, collect boost pickups as if your navigation is set to The Simpsons’ house, and travel a specific distance worthy of acquiring the perfect donuts!"
While the full lineup of challenge rewards hasn't been revealed, here is what has been confirmed so far:
- Blinky antenna topper
- Homer's hedge-themed banner
- Waste wheels
- 20,000 experience points for each challenge
Based on promotional images is a reliable guide, it appears fans will also receive rims featuring a TV displaying The Simpsons' opening credits, alien antenna toppers, a sprinkled donut boost trail, and boost effects inspired by burning tires and Krusty Burger.
Event Timing and Fortnite Connection
This event lines up with the extensive Simpsons takeover of Fortnite, which brings a brand-new map of Springfield, in addition to a 30-day seasonal progression system. The Rocket League x The Simpsons event begins on November 1st and ends on Nov. 17.
